- Effectiveness of Index Card Match Media to Increase Knowledge and Attitude of Class 4th Graders About Diarrhea at SDN 25 Koto Panjang in 2023

Efektivitas Penggunaan Media Index Card Match Terhadap Perubahan Pengetahuan dan Sikap Siswa Kelas IV Tentang Penyakit Diare di SDN 25 Koto Panjang Tahun 2023

Abstract

There were 130 cases of diarrhea that occurred in the working area of ​​the Koto Panjang Ikua Koto health center. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Index Card Match media on changes in knowledge and attitude of fourth grade students about diarrheal diseases at SDN 25 Koto Panjang.

This research is a mixed method research, qualitatively using exploratory case studies with in-depth interviews with key and key informants, quantitatively using a quasi-experimental design with one group pretest posttest. The research was conducted from September 2022 to May 2023. The research population is class IV students by sampling technique, namely total sampling with purposive sampling, as much as 48 respondents.

Qualitative research obtained Index Card Match media according to the needs of the respondents. The results of quantitative research obtained an average value of knowledge before and after being given Index Card Match media, namely 13.67 and 16.77. The average attitude scores before and after being given the Index Card Match media were 57.46 and 63.08. There was a significant increase in changes in knowledge (p-value = 0.0001) and attitude (p-value = 0.0001).

The conclusion of the study is the effectiveness of the use of Index Card Match media to increase the knowledge and attitudes of fourth grade students about diarrhea at SDN 25 Koto Panjang. It is suggested that Index Card Match can be developed for other health problems.
